the top and left side bottom photo are Chevrolets, early to mid '40's or so..

bottom photo middle is a Ford, 1953-1956

the partial one on the bottom right is an International, early '50's..

Here's the way to do it if you're rich: have one of the "Pimp My Ride" socal places do it for you! No duct tape or truckers straps on this one!! They basically restored a classic VW just to cut it in half, build a new floor that matches the bus roof and put it on. I really like how they have the front overhanging the front of the bus, you could even use the VW lights when you're out in the wilderness!!








Of course then they had to go and paint it some bright colors!!

what would really be nice if the side and rear doors on the vw opened onto a deck, but then again why didn't they use a micro bus with the small roofline windows, if your going to spend that kind of money go all the way

I'm wondering, what make are these vehicles?

The 2 similar buses are '41 - '46 Chevrolet .

The other is a Ford , maybe early 50's . Originally I thought it was an F1 , but now I'm not so sure.

They all look like lots of fun.

Edit; Oops ,, So I jumped the gun there ..... didn't realise there was another page of replies to go .. LOL .. Slow, but steady ...

I was thinking the same thing about the rear hatch opening up onto a deck.

but as for using a 23 window bus...you know how rare those things are and what they're getting for JUNKY ones?????

if you look at the build pics, the van they used was pretty rusted out in the floorboards, but the upper half was still good...but I bet they still spent a bunch of bread on it!

also...I've got a good pic of that 'Chevolks' bus that Sharkman posted earlier. I'll have to throw that on my 'scan- to do' list.

here's a couple pix of one with the back opening onto a deck, as for the side doors opening, it'd be useful but one can imagine the dangers!!
