The Blastolene Boyz are at it again!

Post by Sharkey »

I've posted a time or two about some of the custom vehicles coming off the drawing board of Mike Leeds and Randy Grubb, cars with V16 Patton tank engines and roadsters built from Seagraves fire trucks, etc. I dropped by the Blastolene web site this evening out of boredom and found that Randy is working on a new project, a "Flash Gordon motorhome":

Nothing says this has to be a practical motorhome project, right? Well, it looks like it is well underway, with completion slated for August of 2011. Knowing the history of previous builds, it will be completed by then, if not very shortly thereafter.

If I worked on my house as diligently as Randy works on his cars, I'd have moved in a long time ago.

The "Decoliner" (it has a name now) is getting a skin. The cab is now painted too:

Say, that grille looks suspiciously like half of Dennis' new WiFi antenna.

The sheet aluminum is being applied, and the more of it I see, the more this thing looks like a caterpillar or worse yet, a slug:

I have a strong feeling that the risers on the steps leading up to the flying bridge will have glass mounted in them.

You are right DennisTBD, time and money never seem to coordinate thier arrival for me at the same time either. Now I have more time, but much less money!

It must be nice to create something so fanciful like the Decoliner bus, it does not have to be practical- but just think of the wow :!: factor 8)
