Finally got off my ass to start on the lights... Been slacking for a bit with the weather and Thanksgiving...

Picked up some 24 bulb 4" round leds for the brake and turn signals in the rear...

Have to open the existing holes a 1/2" to make them fit...

These should look pretty sweet on the bus...

I got the clear lenses for the upper lights...

Here's the lenses... They should light up camp really nicely...

Image

Got the new clear lenses on... I have to figure out what wires make them work... When the bus was decommisioned they pulled all the toggles that work the safety stuff that's ony legal to use on school busses... So, I need to figure out which one works them and remove the flasher...

I like the way they look...

Got the rest of the exterior lights... Everything is led's except for the uppers that are sealed beam flood type... I had to take the backing plates off and paint them black, the only ones I could find that would work were either chrome or white...

Image

Well, got almost all the lights installed... Still need to find backup lights and a light for the plate...

A HUGE thanks goes out to Dan on another forum... A little while back he PM'd me asking if I wanted any parts off of a motorhome he was scrapping...

I met up with him at his place and there was a lot of usable stuff... Asked him what I could pull off of it and what he wanted for it... He let me and my boys attack the thing and take whatever we needed for a bottle of whiskey...

Stopped by the liquor store on the way home and picked up a half gallon of Sailor Jerry's for trade and started tearing stuff out the next day...

Here's some pics of the goods, there's still a lot of small misc things I have in tubs from the motorhome...

Thanks again Dan...:cheer:

Fresh water holding tank... This might be the one I end up using because of space...

Really nice stove, almost brand new...

Toilet...

Image

Hot water heater and range hood...

Image

A good size propane furnace with 3 vents/ducting...

Image

Water pump...

Image

Fuse box with a long heavy gauge shore power cable...

Image

Double stainless sink with faucet and all the plumbing...

Image

A bunch of water lines and copper propane lines for all of the appliances...

Image

An RV aluminum ladder for the bunks...

Image

And a ton more stuff...

Drove the bus over to Donnie's yesterday to play with the wiring...

Image

Looked at it for a little while with Jimbo and Rick, but the beers were causing to much of a distraction... Spent the rest of the night chillin' by the fire gettin' drunk...

Image

Slept in the bus on a cot... Then got after the wiring this morning... Got pretty much all the major stuff figured out... Huge thanks to Donnie...

Got some work done on the dinette and galley...

There will be a 1" thick piece of plywood on the bench and the rest will get treated with aluminum diamond plate...

Image

Image

Image

Here's the start of the galley... The stove will slide into the open square spot... Still needs a few pieces added on, but you get the idea... Gonna get painted black and aluminum diamond plate for cabinet doors... Then it'll get a slate counter top...

Image

Image

Got the stove mounts welded to the galley... Had to work under the awning because of the rain... The fridge is mocked up... Now I'm gonna work on the upper cabinets...

Got the rough in done on the upper cabinets... There's another one above the large window on the passenger side as well...

Started the rough framing for the head... I'll try and get some better pics...

Still have a lot of framing to do, but the main structures are coming along nicely... Gonna be a lot of little things that don't show a whole lot of progress happening real soon...

Here's some better lighted pics...

Pulled the galley out to add a little more...

Image

Then added some diamond plate above the cabinet doors...

Started on the cabinet doors...

Raping some tool boxes for their hidden treasure...

Image

Image

Had to rework the microwave cubby so the doors would fit without notching...

Image

Image

Started bending up some drawers for either side of the stove... The boxes are being made from the old interior skins from the bus... They'll get an aluminum face like the cabinet doors...

Image

Image

Stole some drawer sliders from a vanity that I got for free, the vanity ended up being to big for the bathroom I'm re-doing...

I cut the hole in the floor for the shitter, then started cutting up the waste tank... I need to use the short wide one, the other won't fit unless I move the battery box and that ain't happening... The tanks are made out of a cream colored plastic with little black speckles...

Also finished up fitting the fresh tank under the galley and installed some lighting...

Had to pull the onboard air set up and relocate it to make room for the black tank...

Image

Started fitting the tank... I'll be crapping in the bus before long...:redneck:

Image

Image

Got the black tank in place... Still have to finish the mount... Also have to get an extension to attach the toilet flange(to short)...

Image

Started mocking up a wire rack under the stove I got from Zoediak... Thanks Dusty...

Image

Messed around with the framing for the fridge and got the vent installed...

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Started framing in the laptop station... The storage for the shore power cord goes under it as well as the fuse/breaker box...

So, I decided I wanted to build some sofa/couch seats like the ones my buddy has in his toyhauler... I made some templates and started fabbing up the brackets... Here's what I copied...

Also picked up a damaged counter top at home depot for 20% off...

Well, I decided that to go any further I needed to get the walls buttoned up... So, I tore everything down and started on the insulation... 1.5" foam...

Image

Image

I cut the plywood into panels and glued on some indoor/outdoor carpet...
