For this particular toilet, a large kitchen trash bag fits over the top of it. You turn it upside down to empty. At this point, you can put the emptied product in an outside composting bin, or it can be sealed in the bag and put in a dumpster. If you're putting it in a composting pile, it would be good to use a composting kitchen bag.

I finally finished the fresh water, shower, and composting toilet installation this winter. Here's a quick pictorial.

Drop Shower

This was orginally the location for the rear door. Just made a drop shower out of it.





The Fresh Water Tank

Because this is a transit, i installed the 100 gallon fresh water tank inside the bus, under the beds. Concerned about leaks, I built the enclosure and fiberglassed it. If anything leaks, it flows out the floor drain I installed. Space around the tanks was filled with foam. The tank fits tight and shouldn't be moving around any now. Pump on top is a Shurflo 24V.

Very nicely done. My drop shower required a separate holding tank (7 gal) and a lift pump to the grey tank. How does yours drain? Jack

Hmmm, functional, but not ideal. I wished I had made the bottom of the stainless pan with a pitch so water would not pool in the corners if you're not level. Too late for that now. This is the first one I've ever had made. Lesson learned. The drain out the bottom is still above my frame rails. I haven't hooked up the tank yet. That's coming next. But, it should drain good.

I did pitch mine, I wish I had put two (or four) drains in it seems I'm never quite level enough.

Me too. But, even though it's not perfect I'd still rather have it than have to use the campground shower!
