NFPA 1192: Standard on Recreational Vehicles

Post by stuartcnz »

Have been reading through this standard, and it looks pretty sensible. The only exception may be that a lot of the proscribed labeling would be unnecessary in a vehicle that you built yourself, for use by yourself, in practical terms.

The standard can be bought here: http://www.nfpa.org/codes-and-standards ... &code=1192

Or read for free, from a link on that page, as I did. You do need to sign-up for a free account to do that though.

I was trying to get into making small rv's about 20 years ago and bought that older version. It is mostly just stuff a company - or a person - oughta do anyway to make sure the vehicles are safe, but since so many will try to cut a corner, they put it in a rule book.
