The forum software has a built in image hosting feature, no outside server upload necessary. Watch:


When you post, look below the form field that you would type the message into, there will be an area with tabs across the top "Options" and "Attachments".

• Select the "Attachments" tab

• Click "add files" (I think the board is set to allow three images per post)

• Place the cursor in your message where you want the image to show up

• Click "Place inline" next to the image title in the row

• You can add a text description in "File comment"

• Click "Preview" to see if your image(s) are as you like them, or "Submit" to post

Not sure about the "Not viewed yet" tag after the image. Could be that something additional is necessary, more detail later as I learn them

Sorry to burst everyones bubble, but I cannot afford the storage space for photo hosting on this server, so have switched it off. I run a lot of other stuff here, and if the disk fills up, I would have to delete the forum first.

Well, so much for that. I didn't turn it on, I just found that it had been enabled from the beginning.

I don't doubt your intentions Sharkey. It must have defaulted to on in a past update, without me noticing.
I have racked my brains about this very thing, on and off for several years now. And it just occurred to me that I may now know a solution.
Anyone here with an internet connection could either host it for themselves, and or share it with others. It is called a Freedombox. Which is a collection of software built onto standard Debian Linux OS. It will run on very very lightweight hardware, and using Pagekit can be made reachable through dynamic DNS, so can be hosted at home.

It has been in development for a good number of years now, and is at this point very stable, does automatic updates, and is easy for anyone to set up. It also has a photo hosting platform built into it.

I have also been looking again at Flickr. They seem to be saying that free account pics can be linked to BBCode so could be seen here without actually being present....??? My computer time is sparse, so have been looking slowly.

Hope everyone is well! Our heatwave is still going strong today, but seems to be losing it's grip just a tiny bit. Am looking forward to September!
