Hey Everyone...Here's a link to abebooks.com where I found two copies of "Home Free" the New Zealand book on housetrucks that is hard to find. I already have several copies. A nice book with lots of pictures with text, and a view of the housetruck culture in NZ.

I am interested, but I lack the funds. I'm still trin to get all the books on Ben Rosander's site. oh well.
Roger, I'm curious; does that book really strike your interest because of the tractor-trailer type house trucks? (I'm assuming that it features them) I remember you were interested in that. Are you still looking into doing that??

Remember that the exchange rate for NZ$ > US$ is about 2:1, so if the price is $62NZ, it's only $31US plus shipping.
I wish that the US housetruck scene was as active and cohesive as the NZ folks are and have been for years. Home Free conveys a sense of this in it's pages.

Dadeo, about the NZ houseruck book. I like it in part, because it is it the hardest housetruck book to find if you are trying to collect all the available books on this subject. Also, the NZ book is more of a commentary on a community situation where these folks travel and camp together and do fairs selling their wares or services for survival. There are several 5th-wheel housetrailers and they are coming from a different viewpoint in terms of design and I find them interesting.
Also...Sharkey's got it wrong on the cost. The abebooks web site clearly says US dollars. The price does change a few cents each day because of currency conversion rates changing. So, the price you see it accurate. If you click on the currency exchange button, you'll see the fixed NZ dollars price.

Bumping this topic back to the top of the page.
Just got off the phone with Roger, and he says that there are currently four copies of Home Free available from AbeBooks. The cheapest is only US$27 plus shipping.
The link in the first post is still valid and will take you to the display of the four copies.
