And I thought I had enough to do just converting my coach!
It looks like the Greyhound Senicruiser that they started out with was already a converted coach. Amazing that they are lifting the entire back roof of the bus up by hand, it must be made of aluminum and depend on the glass to add a lot of strength when it's inserted...

I am not sure if I posted these pics before. Its a early 50's GMC. It had a small 6V-53 series detroit in it. It was broke down for a week or so down the road from me. The aluminum casting on the radiator for the water hose was corroded and was leaking. I think the guy lived in Temecula, CA. If you look close you can see the steering wheel in the pic. I would think it would take some time sitting that high above the road!!!

My experience has been that the higher the drivers seat, the easier it is to know where you are on the road.
These days I drive container straddle carriers which have the drivers seat about 35 feet in the air and you can get your wheels within an inch of where you want them.

Since this thread is already swerving around and getting off-topic, I'm going to grab the steering wheel and try to throw it into the guardrail.
Stuart, I stopped by your blog and found a very useful piece of information:

I get quite a number of requests for the Gypsy Fair itinerary and can never quite come up with a useful answer. Now I can at least give folks a method of finding out whether or not they will have the GF in their area soon. Thanks!stuartcnz (on his blog) wrote:Due to competition problems The gypsy fair only advertises about four events ahead of where they are traveling to at a given time. To check their itinerary online go to eventfinder.co.nz and enter the key words gypsy fair. you will be given results for Gypsy Fair.
