Slow, slow, slow

Post by Sharkey »

Just checking to see if anyone else is seeing the very slow response times from the site like I am. I'm just finishing up a visit to a friend's beach house for the Independence Day holiday, and for the last few days, the forum and the rest of the site has taken 45-60 seconds to begin loading. After that, the information pours in fairly fast, but the delay is troubling to me. All of the other sites hosted on the server I'm on are experiencing the same thing, and a traceroute inquiry shows things getting crappy sonewhere in the Qwest system.

Sent a message to the sysadmin, but haven't heard back. Oh well, maybe it'll get fixed or something...

I had noticed that it had slowed down in the last few days, but it has done so in the past and come back up to speed. So I thought nothing of it.

Yes, that's exactly what it's been doing for me for about the last week.

??? Now things seem to be back to "normal", although the satellite connection isn't working at all and I am using a dial-up account.

Damn, all too soon for my liking. I was going to suggest that it's time to fill the Tip Jar so I could buy some hamster kibble and grease for the squirrel cage wheel bearings...
