On the show, Superman, there were two types of Kryptonite. Red and green Kryptonite. Which one adversely affected Superman? What was the only thing that could shield Superman from it's effects?

Superman couldnt see through lead (there was no question for this...but I knew the answer(-:) Green Kryptonite made him weak..I dont remember red.
