Thanks longjohn! It'll give me something to read and look at this sunny but FREEZING day. Down in the single digits again....hurts my fingers to do anything out there no matter what gloves I use. And then theres the matter of not being able to feel my butt for 3 hrs after I come in

Thanks again longjohn...I have A LOT to learn. I've never owned a bus and sure don't know what I'm doing, should be doing or not doing. I don't know how to check the oil...or if there is anything else I should be checking, especially since winter is here. I'm so afraid I'll ruin something on the motor from incorrectly/no maintenance.
I decided I'm going to contact the school garage where this bus used to be owned. I'm sure the maintenance dept has records for this bus or perhaps I could get lucky and get a copy of a manual from them. They probably have extras or could get one for me.
Last night I went and plugged the bus in (has engine hearter) and then tonight I went out and it started right up. This bus sounds fantastic and I know it has a great motor in because it was my sister's father-in-law, a licensed diesel mechanic, who originally bought it strictly for the engine to put into his short bus. But, like a good dad, he ended up giving the bus to his son last winter who was going to use it to pan gold. Well, he owed me money so to pay me back...I got the bus just a few months after he got it from his dad.
