My response to this escapade may not be in line with most. But this person should NOT be in charge of any vessel in the water! Her sole ambition is to be the youngest solo circumnavigator, period! She has no where near enough maturity or respect for the ocean, or international maritime law. She is n...

Hey Dusty, I just read your interview on HTNZ. The top photo that I posted on this thread is on the Maruia Saddle, it was part of our maintenance contract. I'm impressed that you managed to get a bus over it. For people not familiar with the Maruia Saddle, it is an original stage coach road over a m...

Sharkey, I guess you could drive a housetruck onto a roll on roll off ship and pretend to drive all the way over, but it would be an awfully long drive I would think.

This one was taken a couple of hundred yards further along the road from the last one, in weather more common to that area. Again shot on 35mm transparency. The whitish line to the right of the island is one of only a few naturally occurring boulder banks in the world. http://i46.tinypic.com/2dujp21...

This was taken about one hundred miles north of the last two. Shot on 35mm transparency.

This one was taken at around the same time on 35mm transparency. This was in the bush, just off a gravel road that we maintained.

I took this one with a 35mm camera a few years ago while working on the roads. I was sent out to look for flood damage in a small truck during some heavy rain and took this one out the window.

Rudy, have you considered making contact with WINs (Wandering Individuals Network) Many of them are retired, but there are a few who would definitely be interesting to meet. Check out http://mobilecodgers.blogspot.com/ Randy, the guy who writes it, joins up with them several times a year, then wande...

Bob, just a quick note on wind turbines. The ones that have square ends on the end of the blades are much quieter than the ones with pointy ends, which can produce an incredible amount of noise.

Are any of you guys on Skype? I've recently put it on my computer, but haven't tried it yet.

But free Skype to Skype calls, seems like a better way than long distance phone calls.

I was looking at that thing on top of Logan's amp, and I don't know what it is. Even if it was a tip jar, there was nobody there to contribute. If thats a bass amp, whatever it was, would have been unlikely to stay there long. It took me several years of playing before I finally learnt the futility...

The following is taken from a marine engineering website, focused on commercial shipping http://www.dieselduck.net/ . I thought it maybe of some interest, given the recent discussion on diesel fuel problems. In the last few years, the number of reported fuel problems attributed to microbial contamin...
