Re: The Crib

I agree w/Stuart vv. the loo - separate makes more sense when possible. I might be feasible to have some sort of sliding or (re)moveable hanging rod in the show, since it's empty space except for a few minutes a day - move the rod to take a shower. It probably wouldn't do for some things, but other ...

Re: New commuting vehicle

Great to hear your bike works like planned. I had a thought on the light, but not sure if it leads anywhere. The height of a handle bar light is probably about 8"-12" higher than the usual car lights (though not, of course, the light on a muscle bound pickup). This makes keeping it down a ...

Re: New commuting vehicle

That looks more compact than I'd figured. Nice system. One note from my own experience (on the receiving end) with bike lights: The new ones are pretty bright and easily blind oncoming motorists. I've only been nailed once, but it was pretty extreme. Started to be a problem from about 50-70 yards aw...

Re: 1989 S1600 White Rhino

IIRC, the clearances for flues relate to "flamable material". That is actually a term art and some things that you might think are flamable are really not - at least not as far as the code or manufacterer's installation instructions are concerned. Aluminum certainly is not, of course. Whet...

The way to be. Way better than lots of other ways. <g> Sounds like you've covered a lot of problems. I like using the "extra days" for shop work.

Great project. Going to post all the gory details, right? <g>

That sounds like about an hour or so of peddling. You figure the electrics will speed that up, right?

Re: Another newbe

Dennis Many/most RV and Marine units won't pass code. They don't have to and are sold and installed expediently and with widely varying criteria. So it's extremely unlikely one would be breaking any "rules", if manufacturer's installation guides are followed. However, that doesn't make the...
