Re: Tiny house on a trailer
Good to hear from you all!
I have planted beans in a small patch in the front yard - about 4' x 8'. About a week and a half ago, along with some Hickory King corn. Should get some beans before freeze, but the corn doesn't have a chance! I hope the stalks will be tall enough by then, though, to get some fall decoration stalks.
Also put in two beds, 4' x 50' each, of sunflowers at the farm. Same as corn, I expect stalks for decoration. I have 8 of those beds to try to get something planted in, even if it just becomes ground cover and dies at first frost.
It is a race this time of year to get some late things planted! We have had roses still blooming on Christmas day, and have had 12" of snow on Oct 6, so there can be some "whiplash" around here. High temps are gone for the year - our highs are in the high 80's from here on. Still make ya sweat, but at least can sweat! Should be no more heat stroke for this year!

Re: Tiny house on a trailer
This is the entirely wrong thread for me to post in, but seems to be where all of the action is.
I'm moving to the States in a few weeks. Have been approved for a green card, have the visa stamped in my passport and plane tickets booked. Will be driving trucks in the near term, so may have the possibility of meeting some of you, at some stage.

Not the wrong thread - it's the one you want to post in! Who is gonna complain to the admin? I guess that would be you...?stuartcnz wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2024 11:02 am This is the entirely wrong thread for me to post in, but seems to be where all of the action is.

Sounds like a good time! South Dakota! Whew! Would love to know the thought process there.... It's a beautiful state in the west part. East is kinda boring, but you will have easy access to Sturgis, Black Hills, Rushmore, and Wall Drug!!! And Devil's Tower and Yellowstone just a short drive west!
What part are you going to be in? What kind of trucks? Big trucks? Over the road?
Welcome to the US!
