On mine I decided to use 6, 5 gallon barbeque tanks that I bought from Costco. For me they are easy to store, I can always fill the empty ones without moving my bus. I can transport one by foot or bicycle if I had to. When I go camping I can use them away from the bus for lanterns, cook stoves and heaters. I still had to mount them so they don't move around when I'm driving. I'm going to make a manifold for the bus so I can change to a full tank before the previous tank is completely empty.

I'll second that. I was given a 25 gallon frame-mount tank that I ended up giving back because I realized that I'd never be able to fill it except when the bus was driven into town, which is basically never.

I have three 35 gallon tanks that could be connected to the bus via a pipeline if I ever needed a lot of gas to run the propane heater, etc over the course of the winter. These are much too big to mount under the bus, being upright tanks, but they could be set up in an enclosure or even out in the open and plumbed to the bus system if needed. They are a pain to move when full, but it's possible using a hand truck.

If you have a stationary bulk propane tank for your home, or to connect to your bus when parked at the home-20, you can always get the propane company to set you up to fill your own BBQ tanks for portable use.
