Hello,
I just started my own bus conversion project. It's goal is a 'green' motor home: solar, water recycling, radiant heating/cooling, the list fo ideas keeps growing. It is a 1967 Wayne GMC 29' school bus. The website is in development, but I have pictures, links, and project plans. The site's url is www.pimpthebus.com. I would love to hear what others have to say about the project so far, especially those with experience who might know some of the things that missed in the planning stages.

Hi Claudette, looks like you have an ambitious project in mind. I guess my advice would be to not make it such a grand project that you never get it completed. I've been plugging along on my bus for over ten years now and the construction is as close to perfect as I can manage. Of course, it's still incomplete, I would have been living in it after a few months if I didn't have such high standards to meet.

I was recently reading that the most environmentally benign lifestyle might actually be living in a high rise apartment in midtown Manhattan. Higher density housing concentrates the materials and services necessary to support society. Vehicular activity is less necessary when all of the retail services are within walking diestance, etc. This assumes that one is content with an urban existence.

I'm sure that mental institutions are also very efficient living, cause that's where I'd be if I had to live in a big city. I can barely stand this miserable little burg, and will be bailing out shortly...
