Okay this is my first try at gettin' some pics up...
This is one of last summer's camping trips at fresno resevoir.
Not too crowded as you can see. 4th of July here is packed.

think if my bus were any longer than 27 ft i wouldn't have
made it down to the sand/water.

More to come.....

Yep....dt466...5sp tranny and 2spd rr-end. I had so much metal in that thingduring my move
that I topped the grade out of baker heading to las Vegas at 15mph and it was about 103 out....

Chuck and I bought this one in Eureka Ca...I think
about 6mos before I moved. We had already got
the other one which was a dt3600 and a ward body
down inland of San Diego. I fell asleep driving that
one home that night...thankfully I woke up
before I took anyone out...

The Ward was 37 ft long. Here it is being packed literally
to the rafters. The CG was way out of control by the time we left.
I had let my wife and her friends do most of the packing and
some of the heaviest things were up at the roof line. I was
aired up to 125 psi or it wallowed like a beached whale...

yep..packed from front to rear. We did build a little cab area to nap and such.
I ended up doing most of the driving
as my father in law scares me behind the wheel.
One stretch as he was driving my wife kept calling to give the
blow-by-blow of who we just missed and how close....
he was especially indifferent towards motor homes...
no idea why. prolly knew he'd win...

We moved in the first week of April. I never got the heater to work but i wasn't too worried....
cause, hey! It's spring right?
this is just past Dillon Mt right at the idaho/Mt border. 9 degrees below zero, no heat and holes in the floor.
I stopped in Butte just to warm up 'cause my feet were burning.
Nice way for a dibetic to mess up his feet...
We followed a storm from Nevada to Montana.
When I got to Gildford it was 30 deg out and that felt nice....

This was the little cab area. My pa-in-law would bundle up on that Ikea couch and try to stay warm.
We still use that couch...best 150 bucks I've spent....

here's our store. this was taken last winter.
I have a small machine shop in the 3 car attached garage in back.
good thing, too...cause the store doesn't quite pay all the bills.
You do get to write everything off though....

Our house is above the store and was created out of the old dance hall that was above the store.
There is still about 1000ft of dance hall left with old embossed metal ceiling.
The store was built 1914-1916 so it's almost a hundred.
people that like busses would like this place.

Resizing Photos
Biff. Nice pics. See if you can edit your posts to make the photos no larger than 640X480. That is the ideal size for posting to forums. It keeps you from having to scroll back and forth to read the words. If you use TinyPic, Resize the pics before you upload them.

The Metal tent? Yeah....i wanted a flat nose but this was laid out well with gears, engine, And I wanted a shorter bus so I could still negotiate the back roads....which can get pretty rough here.

I really like how it drives.

That sounds like some pretty serious trucking! Glad you made it with no major incidents.

The store looks like a cool spot.

thank you! there were a couple scary moments.....

Both busses ran well with no hiccups so that was nice. At the time we were moving a rental van was $6000 one way. Two busses were cheaper of course!

Here is another pic of Ted's bus. This is at his old shop in Simi Valley, before he moved to Montana.
I went to the auto parts store and got a can of that spray that makes your tires look real shiny, then I snuck over sprayed Ted's bus tires.:D
