Thermal Paint & Additives
I thought this was worthy of starting a new post...especially since I couldn't find the post where Dennis mentioned the kind he is going to buy.
Dennis...THIS was the stuff I planned on buying to add to my final coat of paint. Does anyone have any experience with this stuff?

Hi Blu,
I think I'll look for that stuff up here, for my house as well as for Pit Stop.
I've got a 22 ft travel trailer that could use it too, and a little camper.
Hope you got my email, so at least you know what my house looks like if you head westward.

Hello Dennis,
I'm thinking of warmth with my skinny body. Hope YOU got an email from me too, and I hope to hear from you soon.
What is the exact R value on the supertherm?, haven't looked yet myself

Looks like good stuff, don't think I could afford it though. This is my project on a shoestring. The house has to come first, unfortunately.
Somehow I WILL get glass into Pit Sop, and mounting and sealing Mercy's window won't be too hard.
This year I will have to work with the materials I have, after the bathroom is renovated next Spring, then I will be able to save up for what I can't scrounge for both projects.
In the meanwhile, I'll content myself with scrubbing and fixing floors, and figuring out how to get Pit Stop's front doors closed, they've been open so long they are rusted in place.
Cheers

Dennis...have found the "cheapest" place to get that stuff from? $498 a pail is what I found. But over the 20 yr life it has, it would pay for itself many times over.
Next time I get to town I'll get the name of the one I used on my roof. It made a VERY noticeable difference on the inside temps while my bus was sitting in the sun. I wish I would have taken the time to actually figure out the temp difference.

After reading the chart on that for Super Therm...I have to wonder what would be the best color to paint my bus for winter weather? Or combination weather - best for winter or summer?

I guess I'll be the wet blanket here. You may want to google the stuff and see if there is any actual data available on it - as opposed to a few untraceable user reviews and hype. Might add search terms like "law suit" or "complaint". From my long ago courses in physics I wouldn't bet a plugged nickle on the value of that coating relative to and inch of real properly insulation installed under the roof; it _may_, when brand new, give twice the R-value of one coat of paint.
Sorry. To me it smells to high heaven, especially considering our great American tradition of snake oil.
OK, I'll stop it now. <g>
