Here's to many happy campouts in 2024! Our last campout was Christmas '23 at Camp Comfort. No rain but pretty chilly. Night time temps in the low 30's outside and 44 inside as wifey refuses to use the heater at night--burr.

Not much in the way of pics but I rather like this one of all our "animals" and our little Christmas tree. Jack

Hello All! It's 1/2/26 and happy new year to all. We got rained out of our Christmas camp out so spent the holiday at home enjoying a fresh roasted chicken with all the fixins. We'll do a make-up camp out as soon as we can find a spot and the rain goes away. Hope to report back soon. Jack

Happy New Years to all ! We made sure to have ribs with sauerkraut, and black-eyed peas on Jan 1. That should guarantee a good year!

Well, black-eyed peas didn't help this year so far! Three of us, including a visiting 15 yr old great grandson, got covid in mid Jan. Have had it before, but this one was worse because we didn't make time for vaccines. Never make that mistake again! Recovering now, with some remaining symptoms that are slowly improving. Looking forward to spring when I get to play with the two new mini-excavators I bought last week! New toys for digging in the dirt!

Good to hear from you. Honeysuckle Rose is all topped off with diesel, oil is changed, water tank is full and waste water is empty. We are just waiting on a few health issues to clear up and we'll be out the door! The vascular surgeon will tell me tomorrow when I start a heavy duty ration of blood thinners so he can operate on my two 90% clogged carotid arteries. So far I feel fine but it is a no brainer that I can't keep on going without some help lol. Jack

From family members who have gone through that, it is a great thing to do! They all felt better pretty much immediately. Except for the hole to run the little probe in, and that healed quickly.

Thanks for the reply SC. Doc says the little hole method won't work for me. It will be 3" cut, a temporary shunt and the use of a 2 millimeter "spoon" to scoop the junk out of the plugged vessel. The vessels will all get stiched back in place and I'll have a new conversation starter scar on my neck all scheduled for April. I expect the surgery to go well and expect to go camping May-ish. I see you check in on the regular, so I guess you are still kicking! Good to know!

We had 5 months of rain (monsoon!) and decent temperatures that ended last week. We are now at 94 degrees and 60% humidity. I was still operating under the cool monsoon 'guidelines' last week and ended up with heatstroke and my first ever ambulance ride! It sucks. Everything ok now, but still sensitive to heat! Or maybe paranoid about it...

Anyway, I got my Hondapotamus running well, and with a follow-up timing belt replacement for $1,700, it runs better than it has since I bought it! Can now use it without worry about that thing letting go! That is an event required every 100,000 miles. Last service I show on it was 150,000 mi ago! Gonna start doing some road trips around the middle of the country!

Since the bus is still far away from camping condition, am looking at small travel trailers to do some longer travel.

No sure how many of us still tune in. Things are very quiet! Enjoy!

We spent the week of the fourth at a near by KOA and enjoyed the camp out after nearly half a year without using the bus. Funny how much I forgot about the ins and outs of the daily operation of the bus but despite the faux pas we had a good time.

I am still trying to figure out pictures. Seems to be easy if I want to pay big money to store pics now. I never would have enough to justify the prices! The tornado post I did years ago had the most of the pics I am likely to put anywhere online.

Can tell it is Wednesday at noon, the first week of the month! The tornado sirens just came on for testing! I haven't looked outside for maybe 15 minutes, so I guess I better verify there is no storm! It was 94 deg, bright, sunny skies when I came in, so it easily could be a tornado....!

In other news, the home insurance company sent me nasty-grams telling me I have to replace the roof by Aug 26 or they will cancel me. It is well along in the process, and should be done by next week, but has had me scrambling to get a little bit of carpentry done that is on the soffit. Not fun working in this heat! And the humidity is making it feel like Louisiana! Monday we had 99 deg, with 60% humidity giving us a temperdidity of 115 degreeeeees! The "feels like" number.
