Dusty's Bus
Moderator: TMAX
Dusty, the picture of all the buses and trucks heading into town shows what appears to be a trailer, maby being towed by a truck? It is wood sided with what appears to be shingles the top third of the way up? Was that a large trailer pulled by a semi-truck? I sure like your pictures, I had no idea that NZ was such a hotbed of hippy-type truck and bus activity! DB
Jeez DB , you expect me to remember that sorta detail .........
OK, here's what they all are;
1 - Leyland 1/2 Cab
2- Ford Bus
3- J2 Bedford with trailer
4- Mercedes House Truck
5- Mercedes 1418 Truck and trailer
6- J5 Bedford House truck
7- jappa
8- My Bus
The Merc 1418 was a popular unit for pulling a big trailer , looked good and very strong. Of course , as an old tractor unit they had gotten pretty low cost to buy too

For an old geezer you did pretty well with the recall thing there Dusty!
At least you did take pictures, unlike some of us that were photographically challenged in those days. I actually did take alot of pictures, but I was into super 8 movies. They don't translate well into still photos however, and the film has deteriorated quite a bit over the years. I did take some old family gathering movies and convert them to video years ago, and my son has been converting some of the videos into DVDs.
Still, I wish I had taken more still photos of interesting stuff, not just some long lost obscure cousin that you don't even remember his name anymore.

So you all know the joys of dumpster diving .....
Well I now have a digital camera ,, ok ,, so the zoom drive is a little noisy ,, who cares , it was free
Here I am parked behind the old historic quarter in Oamaru, there is a foot bridge over the rail to a pier , popular with fishermen.
Oh , yes the train is a little err ..... little.

Today I went on a trip with the local Vintage Car Club. We went to Loburn Domain.
Rather than give you 120 individual pics of the cars , here are a few general views ,
ps, look at the sunny day .....
The sun was pretty harsh, 30deg C but no cloud cover .... and it seems ... no ozone. Really get burned quick on a day like this.
